Barbosa Family Heritage

For over a century, the Barbosa family has cultivated coffee as one passes on precious knowledge: with rigor, passion, and constancy. The story began in the 1900s with Elias Barbosa, and has been passed down from generation to generation to Danilo, who took over in 1979. Today, the business remains deeply family-oriented: his wife Imaculada and their sons actively participate in the operation, surrounded by an extended family that transforms each workday into a true extension of the home.

Over the decades, the family has never stopped raising its standards. By integrating cutting-edge technologies and turning to specialty coffee as early as 2018, they have managed to reinvent themselves without denying their roots. The result: international recognition, including several major distinctions, such as the prestigious Cup of Excellence. A journey that proves that here, tradition and innovation go hand in hand.

Unique Cerrado Terroir

At the heart of Brazil, the Cerrado Mineiro region stands out as an ideal playground for specialty coffee. Located between 800 and 1,300 meters above sea level, it benefits from a tropical savanna climate with well-defined seasons: humid summers and dry winters. This climatic stability allows for uniform maturation of the cherries, a luxury in the coffee world, which directly translates into the cup with great aromatic precision.

Recognized as the world's first controlled designation of origin for coffee, Cerrado Mineiro is synonymous with quality and consistency. Its rich soils and natural conditions foster balanced profiles, often characterized by a beautiful sweetness, a crisp acidity, and complex aromas. It's no wonder this region has become an essential reference for lovers of refined coffees.
