Barbosa Family Heritage

Since the early 1900s, the Barbosa family has cultivated coffee with a clear vision: to build a lasting legacy, generation after generation. It all began with Elias Barbosa, then passed to Claudio, then to Jairo, and finally to Danilo, who took over in 1979. Today, the business remains deeply family-oriented: his wife Imaculada and their sons work alongside him, perpetuating a tradition where expertise and passion are one.

Over time, the family has never stopped evolving. By integrating advanced technologies and making a shift towards specialty coffee in 2018, they have successfully combined heritage and innovation. This constant pursuit of excellence has led them to the international stage, with several prestigious awards. For the Barbosas, each harvest is both a tribute to the past and a demonstration of their ability to push the boundaries of modern coffee standards.

Unique Cerrado Terroir

Located in the heart of Brazil, the Cerrado Mineiro region has established itself in just a few decades as a pillar of specialty coffee. Extending between 800 and 1,300 meters above sea level, it benefits from a tropical savanna climate characterized by well-defined seasons: perfectly marked dry and wet periods. This climatic regularity provides ideal conditions for uniform cherry ripening, a key factor in obtaining precise and consistent aromatic profiles.

Recognized as the first controlled designation of origin for coffee, this region stands out for the exceptional quality of its products. The soil, climate, and altitude work together to develop balanced coffees with natural sweetness, controlled acidity, and beautiful aromatic complexity. The result: sought-after coffees capable of attracting both connoisseurs and the most demanding professionals.
